Located in the middle of the campus, the Village Green is where everything happens.
It’s home to the container, which is often host to events such as bake sales, student BBQ’s, soup kitchens, and much more.
It also has a gazebo where you can snatch a bit of shade in the summer, along with a number of picnic tables and shady trees outside the café so you can enjoy your lunch in the fresh air.
At any given time one can find students events, live music,amazing food and much more all in the green.
The Red Barn Gym is NorthTec | Te Pūkenga’s dedicated gym for our Sport, Recreation and Exercise learners to practice essential practical skills.
The gym includes exercise machines, free weights, squat racks, and cardio equipment as well as clear space for stretching and body weight exercises.
There is also a range of classroom spaces in the building for the theory sessions and in-class time for learners.
This side of H holds our Maunga Kura Toi (Bachelor of Māori Arts) studio and our purpose-built Civil Engineering classrooms. Both are fully tooled and equipped for our learners needs.
This includes ample classrooms for theory work, workshop space, gallery rooms for exhibits and much more.
This area is home to our Hair Dressing, Barbering, Beauty Therapy, and Travel and Tourism courses. Each programme has its own purpose-built area designed especially for our ākonga needs.
Here our students are able to get hands-on learning, including servicing real clients as well as undertaking theory work.
Located in Toi Te Pito, NorthTec's Arts precinct, the Geoff Wilson Gallery is one of Northland’s few purpose-built exhibition spaces. Exhibitions showcase the work of students and tutors alongside that of established artists from throughout New Zealand.
F Block is the home base of our Environmental Science courses.
Our Environmental Science students have fully-kitted learning spaces at their disposal for certificate, diploma, and degree level study they are able to not only engage in theory learning in the classroom, they are also able to gain practical experience in the lab spaces, undertake experiments and studying native flora, fauna and more.
It’s here we have dedicated, custom built classrooms where our nurses can learn and practice essential skills in controlled, simulated scenarios. We run diploma and degree courses from this area.
Designed specifically for the nursing courses, this space offers a safe and controlled environment for learners to gain the valuable skills they will need in the industry.
D Block backs on to the Marae and Whare Kai and contains a range of flexible classroom spaces.
Here we host our full suite of Social Services course, diplomas, and degrees, as well as many of our Te Reo and Tikanga courses.
It also has a range of office space and classrooms that can be hired.
Our on-campus Marae, Te Puna O Te Mātauranga, is a beautiful space that is used for formal events, welcomes, and informal meetings. When open during the day, it can be used as a quiet place for study or to have a quiet moment.
It is here that new ākonga, kaiako, kaimahi, and distinguished guests are welcomed onto campus by Pōwhiri.
The Marae is also available for booking for lessons, wānanga, hui and events.
Attached to the marae is the Whare Kai which is used for hui and events. It can be booked with or separately from the marae.
Whether you’re looking for your early morning pick me up, lunch time craving quencher, or afternoon energy boost, our on-campus café has what you need.
With coffee, tea, and other hot and cold drinks readily available, a seasonal menu, cabinet food and hot chips and wedges aplenty, there’s always something to help you get through the day.
Outside the café there is a sheltered deck area and the village green which hosts picnic tables, open green space, and the container, out of which we host student events, bake sales, and other functions.

C Block is home to a wide range of classrooms for learner and community use. Here we hold classes in Nursing, Te Reo, Tikanga, and Business.
In C Block we also have a suit of dedicated international student rooms, including a common room and our international team offices, providing academic and pastoral support for our international learners.

Home to a variety of spaces:
Our Student Hub is home to our student common room, kitchen, hangout space, and a range of student services providers.
The student common rooms and kitchen are open to all of our learners for their use and are also home to a Pātaka Kai.
Our Student Voice team, Student Navigators, and Student Support teams are all located in Te Whare Manaaki and are available to all students who need academic, financial,or well-being help.
Te Whare Manaaki is also home to a pool table and study spaces that can be utilised by all of our learners.
B Block is home to our Business and Architecture courses and tutor offices. We have a range of dedicated architecture classrooms which are fully kitted out with the latest technology.
We also share this space with our BCITO | Te Pūkenga teammates who focus on work-based learning in Te Tai Tokerau.
Te Whare Pukapuka is home to our Library and ICT Service desk.
