Health Services
NorthTec partners with PocketLab to provide a range of remote services including express consults, urgent prescriptions, lab tests, medical certificates, referrals to private specialists and sexual health services.
This is a pay-for-use service with a provider which will generally be able to give appointments within 24 hours, and is available seven days a week from 8.30am to 10pm.
Enrolled learners can find additional information and availability on our Learner Portal.
Emergency
The Emergency Department (ED) at a hospital is staffed by doctors and nurses with specialist training to diagnose, manage and treat acute and urgent illnesses and injuries that may be life-threatening or require immediate attention.
If you’re unsure whether your issue is an emergency, freephone Healthline on 0800 611 116 anytime 24/7 and a Registered Nurse can advise you about what you to do. Or check the Emergency Q app (free download from Google Play or the Apple App Store).
Counselling Services
There are times in all our lives when we encounter personal problems or life crises. It may be work or study stress, relationship concerns, financial problems, bereavement, drug, or alcohol use or just about anything. When you are struggling with dealing with these, your studies will be affected.
