Fees and Study Costs
All costs found on this website and in brochures are indicative course fees only and exclude the Compulsory Student Services Fee (CSSF) levy.
Course Fees
These fees indicate the cost payable by students to enter into study programmes at NorthTec, including tuition, class materials and result reporting fees.
Unless otherwise stated, the fees shown are for domestic students only and in New Zealand dollars. For programmes longer than one academic year in duration, the fees quoted are for the first year. Final study costs depends on a number of factors including the courses/papers you select to study. All fees are subject to confirmation, including zero fees courses.
Zero Fees
These courses have no course fees. Additional costs include the Compulsory Student Services Fee (CSSF) levy, and any course-related costs.
The 2025 levy is $300 per full-time equivalent student (120 credits).
The Compulsory Student Services Fee is an additional levy for domestic and international students. The CSSF funds key services for students to assist them with their success, retention and overall wellbeing.
All students (except Apprentices and Trainees) must pay the levy and domestic students can borrow the amount against their student loan. The cost changes based on the number of credits you are taking, so will be less if you are studying part-time, or for only part of the year.
