NorthTec’s hospitality tutor Sean Lynch has teamed up with local community providers and residents to cook a store of ready-made meals by the community for the community.

Last month NorthTec held a Pre-Start Whānaungatanga Hui, welcoming first time Māori, Pacific, and Disabled learners to campus and connecting them to Te Ara Poutama (Student Support Services) team and all student services available prior to starting study.

NorthTec has received two of its three new leased Battery Electric Vehicle’s (BEVs) which will join its fleet of cars as part of a replacement programme this year. Electric vehicle charging stations have also been installed at the Dyer Street and Raumanga Campuses in Whangārei.

NorthTec’s Māori Enterprise papers, which launched in 2021, enter their second year on offer at the Tai Tokerau based polytechnic and are changing the way students learn with a manaakitanga approach to learning.

This summer Study Northland and NorthTec’s international department collaborated to provide eight international students with four free swimming lessons at the Whangarei Aquatic Centre with the SwimMagic Swim School.
